It was one of the first of many forward-thinking initiatives launched by Tata Steel to capitalize on the enormous opportunity. It facilitates the procurement of goods and services from suppliers. E-Procurement aims to improve customer service, control procurement costs & enhance efficiency and transparency. Tata Steel has implemented an integrated system for its manufacturing operations, which is based on e-Procurement that is in tune with the government’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ reforms. Tata Steel has rolled out its e-Procurer (e-procurement system) across its manufacturing plants and offices across India. Currently, there are over 10,000 users across the Group who access the e-Procurement platform daily to perform their procurement-related activities.
Features available on the eProcurement portal:
Category wise browsing of buyers’ requirements: It allows users to view all the active RFIs, RFQs, and requests for quotations in any given category. Also, it allows users to search for a specific requirement based on Category, Division, and Location.
Setting up online Quotations: Querying users can get quotations from sellers who have already registered with the portal. The enquiring buyer can set up an online quotation by providing the seller set up information like Name, Address, Tax identification number, etc.
Increase control: The benefits of using a robust and integrated procurement system include improved transparency, greater control and increasing cost savings through more effective usage of resources & leveraging economies of scale.
