Instead of creating ideas (as was the case in Starcraft, The Witcher, Call of Duty and other games), the studios endlessly copy the trends that have shot from each other.
4. Replacing an interesting level design with a beautiful picture
The clearest example of this aspect is Overwatch. The maps in it are flat to the maximum, no destructibility of objects, a minimum of multi-level, no shelters. The levels are almost entirely made up of corridors and battlegrounds of varying sizes. But, on the other hand, there are a bunch of animations, kawaii characters, and very colorful effects. There is nothing wrong with high-quality effects and characters, it’s even good, but not in the case when they are trying to replace the elaboration of game levels with this colorfulness.
