The company started in 1996, and today it’s the country’s largest private thermal power producer. It operates across multiple states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka, among others.

Adani Power has an installed capacity of about 17,510 MW of thermal power. They supply electricity to both private companies and government-run distribution companies. The company is also known for building India’s largest private thermal power plant at Mundra, Gujarat.

In recent years, Adani Power has been focusing not just on coal-based plants but also moving toward renewable energy. Their big goal is to help India meet its growing energy needs while keeping things sustainable. With India’s power demand expected to surge to 273 GW in June 2025, Adani Power is gearing up to play an even bigger role.

For the entire FY25, the company’s PAT was ₹12,750 crore, a YoY decline of 39%, down from ₹20,829 crore in the previous year. This decline was mainly due to lower one-time revenues alongside increased tax expenses. The company’s continuing revenue grew by 10.8% YoY, at ₹56,473 crore in FY25, up from ₹50,960 crore in FY24.

APL also recorded continuing EBITDA of ₹21,575 crore in FY25, compared to ₹18,789 crore in the previous year. This growth was backed by decreased fuel prices and increased revenue. PBT for FY25 also stood at ₹13,926, a YoY growth of 21.4% from the previous year.

Growth and Financial Health

Adani Power’s power generation saw a significant boost. In Q4 FY25, they sold 26.4 billion units (BU) of electricity with a YoY growth of 18.9%, up from 22.2 BU in the previous year. This increase was driven by higher demand for power and more installed capacity.
