She attended Wilmington Friends College, a Quaker college in Wilmington, Delaware, and later graduated from Archmere Academy, Claymont, Delaware, a catholic Catholic school, and her father’s alma mater. Ashley has a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the Tulane University of New Orleans and a Master’s degree in Social Science from the Department of Social Policy and Practice of the University of Pennsylvania.

Personal Life

Ashley’s late brother Beau introduced her to the cosmetic surgeon Howard Krein in 2010 and married her to St. Joseph at the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Greenville, Delaware, on June 2, 2012. After her father declared his 2020 presidential race, Ashley hit the campaign trail to inspire public interest, appearing at the Wisconsin Women for Biden event in August. She and her brother Hunter both welcomed their father to the simulated August 2020 Democratic National Convention.

Activism and Fashion

In 2017, while serving at the Delaware Center for Justice, Ashley created the charity apparel brand Livelihood, which collaborated with the flash-sale e-commerce platform Gilt, developed and marketed ethically manufactured American apparel to promote social justice reform, enhance youth education, and improve economic inequalities. The emblem of the brand, which includes a bow, references her late brother, Beau.

Social Work

Upon graduating from Tulane, Ashley worked at Philadelphia’s Northwestern Human Services Children’s Reach Clinic as part of their health support team, helping young people and their families access neighborhood resources. About four years back, she worked as an education and jobs counselor at West End Neighborhood Home, where she helped young adults age out of nursing care for one year. Finally, she served as a job liaison for education in the state of Pennsylvania. In 2014, after two years with the organization, Ashley was elevated from Associate Director to Executive Director of the Delaware Center for Justice, emphasizing the improvement of criminal justice. She finally left the position in March 2019, ahead of her father’s 2020 presidential race.

About her Organization

Ashley founded Livelihood after Beau died. It designs and sells American-made apparel to contribute proceeds to purchases to charitable groups in D.C. And Delaware, too. The organization intends to support criminal justice reform, improving childhood education, and facilitating economic disparities. In an interview with Delaware Today, Ashley spoke about why she got into the business.  I did a lot, though, or struggle with losing a sibling, and you will go on and be more robust. She said bringing people out of jail, or only getting the support they need, is about hope and possibilities. I’m in my position because our machine is malfunctioning.

Is Ashley Biden a Surgeon

By the summer of 2010, introduced Biden to Howard Krein by her late brother Beau. The two were dated for a few years before St. Joseph’s knot was added to the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Delaware. Joe was more than tolerant of the agreement. The right man, he said. And he’s getting a helluva woman. Born to Jewish parents, Krein is a surgeon who is currently specializing in facial plastics. According to his LinkedIn, he is also the Senior Director of Health and Strategy at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Centre. He seems to be working in family medicine; his mom, Bunny, worked in cardiology as a medical assistant.

Is Ashley Biden close with her siblings?

That same 2018 profile alluded to the tight-knit relationship that Ashley shares with her family. Joe said to the outlet, “You’re no closer than your siblings. This was particularly true in Ashley’s case. Jill repeated the feeling between Hunter and Beau. Her brothers looked after her from the moment she was conceived. And she’s always been staring up at them. Wherever they go, she decided to go, and they took her away. The horrific loss of Beau’s brain tumor in 2015 inspired Ashley to change the world. It was essential to continue Beau’s tradition of criminal justice reform, his engagement with youth.
