Dubsmash is an app that allows you to capture videos of yourself lip-syncing to sounds ranging from pop tunes to iconic movie lines to viral YouTube videos. The app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. You can download the app or go to Dubsmash’s website on your computer. Once you’ve downloaded the app and logged in with your dubsmash login account you’ll need to set up an account first, you can start filming what Dubsmash calls dubs.
The team has also added cool features that allow you to include your friends’ dubs in a video or make a dub of yourself from a video from another source. The team claims over 4 billion dubs have been submitted to the platform. This latest update of Dubsmash is a big deal in itself. The app received a massive overhaul that brought many new features to the platform. Here’s what you need to know about it.
Table of Contents
Location-based camera filters
There are two main camera filters on Dubsmash: one where you can apply every filter for free, and another where you can only get three filters for free before having to pay for additional ones. You can try them out by visiting this page on Dubsmash’s site and clicking the link to give it a shot. After you’ve clicked the link and played around with the filters, sign in to your account and start shooting your dubs.
New emotes
The new app brings new emotes that allow you to express yourself with emojis. You can also customize your emojis with a color palette based on the ones that come with Apple’s iMessage option. These include smiley/smile, heart face, frown face, angry face, kissy face, an old video producer favorite, and dubsmash. the universal dubsmash sign. Currently, there are more than 40 emotes in total. The app also allows you to mix and match any of the new emotes with your old favorites.
A new dubs category
The team has added a new category for dubs called “Other.” This is where you can find all of your dubs that don’t fit into any other category like music, movies, or tv shows. It’s a great place to find all of the videos you’ve made with friends over the last few months while they were testing out the app. You can also browse other users ‘other’ dubs on the community feed by going to the All tab and scrolling down until you see “Other” in blue letters on your iPad or Android devices.
Filters for music
The latest update gives you the option to add filters to your music videos. You can choose the filter before or after you shoot the video, so it’s not a huge change from the app’s previous version, though it does add a slightly different feel to the process of making a dub in general.
Dubs and search suggestions
You can now preview suggested dubs right on top of your own dubs if you have more than five in your list while searching for new ones in your feed. These suggested dubs will show up at the top of your feed if they have enough likes, comments, views and shares within their own community.
